Founded in 2021, WHĀRIKI JIU JITSU stands as a pillar of community and resilience, guided by instructors trained under Roney Da Silva Kabecao of Gracie Gym NZ (Crolin Gracie). Our commitment to excellence is recognized with a Gold Standard Award from the New Zealand Jiu Jitsu Federation (NZJJF), and our coaches are certified to the highest standards (C1 & C2).
Our name and logo symbolize the deep connections forged through Jiu Jitsu, reflecting the strength, foundation, and unity that define us. WHĀRIKI celebrates the weaving of relationships within our community and maintains strong ties to Gracie Gym NZ (Crolin Gracie Gym) and its affiliates, embodying the principles of strength, foundation, unity, and kinship.

With a passion for nurturing community and youth development, she holds a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt under Professor Roney Da Silva Kabecao and has been an avid martial arts student in multiple styles for the past 20 years.

Tatiana McIntosh
A certified Personal Trainer and Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu also under Professor Roney Da Silva Kabecao, she combines her passion for fitness with martial arts skills, making her a dynamic presence in both realms.
